"I got two words for ya...", wow, how much has and hasn't changed in the world of video game wrestling since No Mercy came out back in 2001 for the N64. Basically, no other game since then has been able to capture the feel of THQ's and AKI's engine even with all the crazy technology we have today. The simple fact remains that this is the best wrestling game of all time for any system! When I can have a 4 hour 3 way ladder match with my friends and then wanna do it all over again when someone finally wins, you have a good game on your hands. Not only did this game have an incredible roster of characters, the create a wrestler was insane and allowed you to make any of the new guys who came into the WWF. Also, the great amount of game play modes also kept you coming back again and again for multiplayer whether it be a ladder match, hell in the cell, last man standing match, or of course the classic, Royal Rumble, it never got old. I have only kept 3 N64 games after selling my other ones a long time ago (something I wish I never did now), but those 3 are, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64, and No Mercy, hmm wonder why? |
