Last Years Rank - 38 Blizzard's first real success in the PC market, WarCraft 2, was also my first experience with a Blizzard PC game. I don't even think I played the single player campaign, as the multiplayer mode was what this game was all about. Being on the 56K modems wasn't even a problem as this game suffered almost no lag and even if it did, it wouldn't hurt the gameplay. Taking control of one of two races (human or orc), the goal was to build up the bigger army and slaughter the opponent before they killed you. Mining wood and gold was all that was needed yet it provided hours and hours of fun. When Blizzard launched Battlenet, I was all over that with my friends playing this every day after school and tying up the phone line. |
